Amazing Pantabangan

Pantabangan is home to the Pantabangan–Carranglan Watershed Forest Reserve and other tourist attractions like the Pantabangan Dam and Awitan Falls.

Just a short history, Pantabangan, discovered on November 30, 1645 by Fr. Juan Alonzo de Abarca, an Augustinian priest involved in the 29th Spanish mission in the Philippines, is a first-class municipality in the province of Nueva Ecija. It is situated at the foot of Mt. Mabilog, below Mt. Dalimanok, which is found between the Sierra Madre and Caraballo Mountain ranges.

Are you up for some kind of adventure? Then, the trail to Awitan Falls is right for you! As the old saying goes, “There’s no elevator to success, you need to take the stairs,” well here, you need to go for a long arduous journey before you get to experience the beauty of Awitan Falls. The trail is only a short 35-minutes but there is an exciting part that requires a rope or what locals call “baging” to land on the rock formation where the Awitan Falls hit the ground. The trail crisscrosses forests and plantations and includes some intermediate difficulty sections. The hardest part is trekking along the narrow trail, but there are trees and “baging” where you can cling while journeying. Most people that are physically fit will find the trail to Awitan Falls normal.
